Public relations combines multiple forms of media and strategies to share a message in a very poweful way.
My senior capstone project was the highlight of my education. I was a part of a small team assigned to plan and produce the Red Ribbon Week and Safety Campaign for School District 215.
With limited resources and time, our group promoted a message of staying safe and drug-free with the help of local media, a city event, assemblies, posters, hand-outs, one-on-one discussions, and a multitude of activities to students ranging from kindergarten to the 12th grade.

Part of strengthening and widening the campaign was to influence local media to share the message and make the public aware of the efforts.
Activities from the campaign recieved two front-page stories, video coverage from a local news station, and was broadcasted on several other media outlets such as Myspace, Facebook, and other news feed websites.
